Singapore Press Club is happy to organise the embassy-media roundtable and cocktail event hosted by the Embassy of Japan in Singapore on Thursday, 29 August 2024 from 6pm. Attendees will be served a dinner buffet of Japanese cuisine and drinks for a cultural experience.
This event is convened by the Singapore Press Club with the aim to bring together journalists and communicators in Singapore with diplomats and senior officials from the host embassy.
We are requesting for your expression of interest to attend the event by registering.
Due to limited capacity, not everyone will be able to attend if we have overwhelming responses. Priority will be extended to Singapore Press Club members and the media. Those who made it to the invitation list will receive an email to confirm their attendance by payment* before 6pm of 19 August 2024 or earlier.
*Attendees who accepts the invitation confirmation must pay an admin fee (via online payment) before an e-ticket will be provided via email to be presented for entry to the event. This admin fee is non-refundable for cancellation or non-attendance for whatever reasons. Ticket is also non-transferable for security reasons.

Parking: Limited space available at the Ambassador's Residence on a first to arrive and park basis. Please submit your car make and plate number when registering. Guests will be directed to park at outside public parking lots when the Residence parking lots are fully taken up.

AN UPDATE OF THE EVENT
Ambassador H.E. Ishikawa Hiroshi and the Japan Embassy Singapore team were joined at the Japanese ambassador's residence by Singapore Press Club attendees of about 60 local and international journalists, communicators, business and civic leaders for a wide-ranging discussion and Q&A that was particularly insightful, a highlight of the event.
We also sampled a delicious spread of food and beverages from Japan and the sake was great but very good Japanese wine too. We sampled a Yamanashi de Grace 2021, made with grapes grown near Mt. Kayagatake, in Yamanashi prefecture west of Tokyo about halfway to Nagano.
The appearance of our surprise guest: MYAKU-MYAKU, the official character of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai! as well asan exhibit of the top-winning entries from the Scenery of Japan Photo Contest. The Embassy Night also introduced attractive travel destinations in Japan.

experience in the Japanese Foreign Service.
Prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Japan to Singapore, he was Deputy Minister in the Foreign Minister’s Secretariat. He had also served as Director-General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department, Director of the First China and Mongolia Division, Director of the First North America Division and Director of the National Security Policy Division.
Ambassador Ishikawa had also served overseas postings to the Permanent Mission of
Japan to the United Nations and the Embassy of Japan in China.
